Andrew Dongelewic is a 2022 RHP/2B, OF with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from Latham, NY who attends Shaker. Medium frame with present athleticism and room to fill out. Primary right-handed pitcher, simple operation with inward leg lift, drives down there mound efficiently. Quick and compact arm action through the back working into a three-quarters release point; Commanded both sides of the plate effectively, sinking and cutting fastball up to 84 mph. Curveball shows 11-to-5 shape with well maintained arm speed up to 68 mph, dropping in for strikes. Tendency to drop arm slot slightly on slider but threw for strikes up to 73 mph. Nice upside on the mound with ease of release and room for added strength. Secondary infielder with rangy, athletic actions, ability to stay low through his funnel and throw from multiple arm slots across the diamond. Uses lower half well with online footwork and accuracy to record throws up to 81 mph in drills. Right-handed hitter with a very narrow, slightly open stance. Uses a coiled hip load, slotted elbow and quickness to his hands for well-timed, consistent swing. Uses the whole field well with consistent barrel accuracy and projection for more power as he adds strength. Two-way potential is there as he continue to physically mature. Good Student.
