Colin Shue is a 2023 C/RHP/3B with a 5-11 155 lb. frame from Leesburg, VA who attends Heritage. Posted a 7.65 in the 60 yard dash. Primary catcher, solid athlete at the back stop showing aggressive actions. Some younger tendencies present, worked out of a high set and the high effort throws lacked body control and repeatable motion. Has quick feet and transfers clean, good placement and gains ground as well. Short arm action worked and throws were around the bag. Also pitched, the right hander ran the fastball up to 82 mph. Aggressive delivery, puts a lot of body in his release. Worked the fastball well filling up the zone and over powering some hitters. Flashed a loose breaking ball, short late action and soft spin but they landed in the zone plenty. Strong arm, has time to tighten up the delivery. Right handed hitter, showed strong hands and good barrel control. Does a good job driving through contact. Strong connections that landed in all fields, very quick bat. The swing projects and is certainly on the right path to be advanced. Excellent student.
