Christian Borbely is a 2024 RHP/IF with a 6-0 162 lb. frame from Montverde, FL who attends Montverde Academy. A taller frame with longer levers throughout the frame. Ran a 7.11 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher who worked from the stretch only. He uses a leg lift up around the letters as the glove moves in unison with the leg lift before he makes his move down the mound. He throws from a higher slot with some whip to the hands and has a higher slot, nearly over-the-top release. His fastball was 81-84 mph with spin up to 2,220 RPMs, and he trusted the pitch early and often during his outing. He also showed a mid-70s slider with more 10-4 lateral shape and some depth, spinning up above 2,000 RPMs. He also showed a bigger breaking curveball at 65 mph with 12-6 depth to it, getting over top of it and letting it bite downward. He also flashed the changeup at 73 mph, killing spin down into the 1,600 RPMs. The fastball played up in the zone with life to the pitch, inducing some elevated whiffs. He hides the ball well overall in the delivery and was able to go out there and keep making his pitches. Great pitchability from the right-handed arm. Great student.
