Reid Carpenter is a 2021 1B/RHP, 3B with a 6-4 180 lb. frame from Searcy, AR who attends Searcy. Extra-large, athletic frame with square shoulders and long limbs, lots of room to fill throughout moving forward with added strength. Ran a 7.50 60-yard dash. Primary first baseman, fields the ball out front, moves well for size off the bag and will continue to refine overall footwork, arm works well through the back and shows accuracy across on throws with carry out of his hand. Righthanded hitter, begins with a narrow and open start with a high hand set and back elbow; utilizes a big stride moving into contact. Loads hands back at start of swing, some wrap to barrel with a long path through the zone. Shows comfort working to his pull side, quick through the zone and keeps hands inside throughout swing, can shorten load moving into contact. Very good student.
