Jesus Lopez is a 2022 2B/SS with a 5-10 145 lb. frame from Coral Springs, FL who attends Coral Glades. Young, square shouldered build with a lean, projectable build, higher waist, and has room to continue to grow and physically develop moving forward. Rana 7.80 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, fields the ball out front, hands play well at the ball, extra steps moving through release, tools play best at second base at present, takes short and quick steps up the middle, around the bag with throws, arm strength will continue to develop. Also pitched, short side step moving into delivery, leg lift up past belt before short stride down the mound. Compact arm action through the back working to a three-quarters release point. Fastball topped out at 71 mph, worked around the zone with late life; comfort landing curveball for strikes, showed 11-5 shape up to 63 mph. Switch-hitter, most present comfort from the right side. Utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing, shows rhythm and a short stroke, keeps hands inside the ball and worked pull side. Similar leg lift trigger from left side, worked the opposite field, contact oriented approach, bat speed will continue to develop. Good student.
