2006 Spring Top Prospect Showcase
Jason Jahnke is a 2007 SS/3B/2B/OF with a 5'11'', 160 lb. frame from Racine WI, who attends Horlick HS. He has a medium frame and slender build. Jahnke is a very good runner at 6.81. He has good range in the infield, especially moving to his glove side. He wasn't quite as loose and quick moving to his right. Jahnke has some carry in his arm and 77 mph arm strength during drills. Offensively, Jahnke hits from a spread stance with no stride and some knee bend at contact. He tends to drift into the ball on contact and most of his best contact is to the opposite field. He flashes some bat speed, especially against better velocity pitching, and should continue to improve with strength. Jahnke is also a good student.
