Shilo Caravantes is a 2020 SS/C, 2B, 3B, MIF, IF with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from San Diego, CA who attends La Jolla Country Day. Medium and lean frame, athletic with room to fill throughout his build. Ran a 7.32 second 60 yard dash. Primary shortstop, moves to the baseball with some quickness, fields the baseball out in front with playable hands, tight release, will improve arm strength with additional ground gained into throws, developing arm strength topping out at 73 mph across the diamond. Secondary catcher, comes out of his crouch gaining ground into his release, takes a long arm action into throws with similar arm strength as in the infield. Righthanded hitter, sets up with a wide based set and a high hand set, takes a small leg lift trigger forward into contact, hands move at load, works from gap to gap with a line drive hitting approach, young barrel feel that will continue to improve with reps at the plate.
