Darren Becket is a 2007 RHP/1B with a 6'2'', 200 lb. frame from Torrence CA, who attends West Torrance. Becket has a good strong build with a lean body. Becket pitches from a 3/4 arm slot with a good clean arm action. He has arm speed and uses tall and fall style mechanics. Becket works down in the zone and has good command of 3 pitches. He throws an 11/5 curveball with good spin. Beckett has good mechanics and throws on a downward plane. At the plate, Beckett has a good swing and stays back well on off speed stuff. He has bat speed and has present power to the pullside. Becket has power potential and looks to pull the ball.
