Vincent Versaci is a 2021 SS/RHP, 2B, OF with a 5-8 140 lb. frame from Hillsborough, NJ who attends Hillsborough. Primary shortstop with an athletic build and medium frame, has room to fill out, 7.89 runner in the 60. Feet work well, shows nice lateral movement and the ability to field, funnel and transfer with ease. Arm strength is developing, throws are on line and accurate with a quick release. In the outfield, plays well to and through the ball with solid fundamental actions, builds momentum to throw, shows accuracy to the bases with slight tail on the ball. Hits from a wider base, even stance with a high hand and back elbow set up. Slight leg lift trigger with subtle weight shift into contact, middle to pull side approach at the plate with a compact line drive swing path that generates slight lift through the zone. Flashes bat speed and gap power when centered in the barrel. Also pitches, smooth and easy delivery with a slower building tempo, full arm circle in the back and delivers through a high 3/4 arm slot. Slight load of hips at the top of a waist high leg lift, maintains direction and a clean driveline to the plate, with a full follow through to finish. Fastball has some arm side life, sitting in the low 70's, topping at 74 mph. Curveball maintains 11/5 shape, and when thrown harder it is effective with more depth and later biting action.
