Drew Zelenak is a 2020 LHP/1B/OF with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Grosse Pointe Woods, MI who attends University Liggett HS. Medium frame with athletic, projectable build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.39 seconds. Primary lefthanded pitcher, short side step into delivery with good tempo, drop and drive mechanics with good lower half usage, tight arm action to three quarters slot, fastball worked 73-76 mph. Showed curveball with good sharpness to break when thrown with conviction. Rotational hitting mechanics with leg lift trigger, drops hands into load and takes them on inside-out path, opposite-field approach. Worked out in the outfield, comes in on the ball, bouncy steps, fields clean and takes large crow hop into the air, long arm action with throws clocked up to 75 mph. Good student.
