Andru Holguin is a 2019 RHP/OF with a 5-7 150 lb. frame from Soledad, CA who attends Soledad. Compact frame with a lean build. Primary right handed pitcher with a simple side step to high leg lift delivery. Stays tall on back side and works to the plate with drop and drive actions. Lands slightly closed on front side and created slight cross fire at release. Quick arm circle through take back and released from a compact three-quarters arm slot. Fastball generated occasional downhill plane through the zone in the mid to upper 70's, topped at 79 miles per hour. Curveball had 10/5 shape with good spin and compact sweep to glove side. Showed the feel and willingness to double up with curveball offering when needed. Also worked out defensively from the outfield showing smooth, clean footwork while closing to the baseball. Funnels baseball of to side and worked the exchange efficiently. Released from a three-quarters arm slot and generate accurate carry to the bag topping at 79 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with a slightly crouched, even stance and simple leg lift trigger. Stays balanced throughout swing while utilizing a simple, repeatable line drive barrel plane. Primarily worked to the middle of the field but flashed the barrel feel to work to all fields as well.
