Darian Choi is a 2022 SS/RHP with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Buena Park, CA who attends Sunny Hills. Leans and athletic frame with some room to add physically. Ran a 7.41 second 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, shows athleticism and quickness to actions with quick feet around the dirt, works to the ball well and has a strong glove, ranges well laterally with comfortability at all angles and shows good arm strength with game-like releases in workouts. Also pitches, fills the zone with a free and easy delivery, rides the back side well with some explosiveness down the mound, has good arm speed and generates good life to the fastball while mixing in a good 12-to-6 curveball with the right spin and depth. Switch-hitter, sets up spread on both sides, shows more fluidity from the left side but is short to the ball on both sides of the plate with more extension and use of the lower half needed to generate good results off the barrel. Showed quickness to hands and a good approach during at-bats in game action. Outstanding student.
