Christopher Lopez is a 2022 SS/RHP, 2B, 3B with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from Winchester, CA who attends Chaparral High School. Medium slender frame with plenty of room to fill out in the future. Primary shortstop, possesses fluidity to and through the baseball with solid rhythm off the bat. Athletic actions with good glove work to either side. Some present quickness to his feet, still developing glove work and fluidity on slow rollers but overall has a smoothness to him defensively. On the mound, uses a side step delivery with a low leg lift. Works straight down the mound with slight violence in his drop and drive actions. Good arm speed for his build, three-quarters arm slot produces slight run on his 74-78 mph fastball. Mixes in a 68 mph curveball but primarily pitches with the fastball. At the plate, has a spread upright stance with good feel for the barrel. Hands work quickly down through the zone, has a flat barrel plane, simple load is quick and efficient. Good student with a 3.5 GPA.
