Connor Wilford is a 2019 RHP with a 6-3 200 lb. frame from San Clemente, CA who attends San Clemente HS. Large frame with broad shoulders and present strength. Primary right handed pitcher with simple rock step to high leg lift delivery. Stays balanced at gather and worked to the plate with drop and drive actions. Lands in line with front side and carries momentum well to target. Hides baseball with a compact arm circle and released from a three-quarters slot. Fastball jumped out of hand well producing heavy downhill plane with run to arm side in the mid 80's, topped at 87 miles per hour. Tends to slow arm speed slightly with a curveball offering that generated tight 11/5 shape. Also flashed a changeup offering that created some fade with sink to arm side in the upper 70's. Consistently pitched to all quadrants of the zone and showed a good knowledge for pitching while on the mound. Named to the 2018 Sunshine West Showcase Top Prospect List. Good student as well.
