Pete Werth is a 2020 1B/3B/OF with a 5-11 200 lb. frame from Orange, CA who attends Cypress HS. Medium frame with a strong, athletic build. Frame projects for additional strength. Worked out defensively from both first base and the infield showing aggressive footwork while surrounding the baseball. Funnels the baseball out front and worked through exchange well. Showed the ability to throw with accuracy while on the run from both positions. Also worked out defensively showing fluid footwork while closing to baseball. Funnels out front and worked through exchange cleanly. Maintains momentum towards the bag and displayed developing accuracy to the bag, topped at 81 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, even stance and large leg lift trigger. Aggressive shifts into contact with lower half. Loose path to contact with a lifted barrel plane through extension. Swung with intent while looking to throw the barrel head to contact with authority. Generated loud, hard contact to the pull side gap with good carry when on time and squared. Good student as well.
