Cole Peterson is a 2020 RHP/1B, 3B with a 6-3 195 lb. frame from Elkhorn, NE who attends Elkhorn South. Large frame with broad shoulders and beginnings of strength. Primary right handed pitcher with a side step to medium leg lift delivery. Stays balanced at gather and works to the plate with drop and drive actions. Full arm action at take back and released from a three-quarters slot. Consistently located fastball offering to the bottom of the zone with late run to arm side, topped at 80 miles per hour. Slider created sharp lateral movement to glove side in the upper 60's. Also displayed good feel for a changeup that generated solid sink in the low 70's. Consistently changed speed showing the ability to land all three pitches for strikes in both positive and negative counts. Also worked out defensively from first base showing smooth paced, deliberate actions while centering and moving through the baseball. Loose exchanges and released from a compact arm slot showing developing accuracy to the bag at 79 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, slightly open stance and simple leg lift trigger. Works to contact with rotational lower half actions. Loose, extended hand path to baseball with a level barrel plane through extension. Barrel enters and exits the zone quickly while employing a mid field approach. Created best contact when connecting with baseball out front and working to the pull side.
