Layton Wagner is a 2019 3B/RHP with a 5-11 205 lb. frame from Boise, ID who attends Timberline HS. Strong thick chested build with very good present strength. Right handed hitter, hits from an open stance with a good close and a short and strong swing, mid field to right centerfield swing orientation, executes his approach very well, very consistent hard line drive contact with good carry to right centerfield, can get the ball to jump and has more power he can tap in the future. Has clean actions at third base with clean exchanges and a quick release, makes accurate throws with some carry, 3/4's arm slot. Also pitched, drifting delivery, tends to get way out front on his release, some effort at release. Fastball topped out at 82 mph with occasional cutting action, slider was his best pitch with good depth and consistent spin. Good student.
