Luis Hernandez is a 2021 OF/RHP with a 5-10 162 lb. frame from Haymarket, VA who attends Battlefield HS. Luis presents a sound athletic make-up on a smaller, but well proportioned frame. He ran a very solid 6.98 60-yard dash. He shows quick twitch in all of his actions and plays with confidence. In the outfield, Luis has a great feel for positioning. He has outstanding timing to field. His glove plays and he shows a consistently strong arm, that was clocked at 82 mph. His throws are routinely on target. On the hill, Luis uses simple, but clean mechanics and pounds the strike zone with two well located pitches. His fastball, that sat between 73-78 mph, was consistently thrown to the lower half of the zone and was worked well to the edges of the plate. His 64-mph curveball showed 12-to-6 rotation, tight spin, and late break. At the plate, Luis is a contact first hitter who uses a compact stroke and a consistent barrel path to spray the ball to all fields. Lastly, Luis is an impressively sound student in the classroom!
