Andrew Smith is a 2019 RHP/MIF with a 6-1 165 lb. frame from McDonough, GA who attends Union Grove. Average frame with a lean build. Ran a 7.49 second 60-yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher with a short side step delivery and slow leg lift to the belt. Shows balance throughout. Long take back with a loose action releasing from a three-quarters slot. Ball comes out of the hand clean. Fastball with short running life topping out at 85 miles per hour. Sinking run to a nice changeup down in the zone. Also shows a 12-to-6 curveball with feel in the zone. Smooth and repeatable mechanics. Also worked out as an infielder. Moves well through the ball. Soft hands out front with a clean funnel. Longer arm action with carry to the bag at 80 miles per hour. RIghthanded hitter with a wide base and high hand set. Short stride into contact with rotational transfer. Middle of the field to pull side approach. Flashes bat speed and generates jump when on time. Very good student as well.
