Carl Travers is a 2008 C/MIF with a 5'11", 165 lb frame from Huntingtown, MD who attends Riverdale Baptist HS. Named to Top Prospect Team. Carl has a projectable athletic build that should add strength easily. There is a lot of polish in Carl's game and you can tell he really knows how to play the game. At the plate Carl has a short balanced swing and really centers the ball up well. He has good bat speed and all the hitting tools to be a highest-level college hitting prospect. Sometimes Carl gets on his front side a little too much causing his swing to become rotational. Behind the plate Carl has top-notch defensive tools. He has a very good short compact arm action to go along with a very quick release. He is a good receiver and really looks the part behind the plate. In the infield Carl is quite similar to behind the plate in the ease at which he gets after the ball. He has great body control and could project at either position defensively. Carl is a strong student that will be a highest-level college prospect.
