Pedro Duran is a 2020 SS/RHP with a 6-2 150 lb. frame from Trujillo Alto, PR who attends Colegio Angel David. Tall and slender athletic build, lots of room to get stronger. 7.22 runner, has good fundamental actions on defense, moves smoothly through the ball with good hands, can speed up his transfer and release, showed carry on his throws with projectable arm strength. Right handed hitter, hits from a high hand load with a clean line drive swing, was well timed and consistently barreled up the ball to the middle of the field, how much strength/bat speed he can gain will determine his offensive ceiling. Also pitched, long arm action back and front with some whip coming through. Fastball topped out at 82 mph with consistent running and sinking life. Slurve type breaking ball that will flash some depth, developing change up. Pounded the zone with all three pitches and competed well. Strong fundamental player with actions who just needs to get stronger. Good student.
