Micah Pietila-Wiggs is a 2018 OF/ with a 5-11 180 lb. frame from Chula Vista, CA who attends Eastlake. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build and wiry strength. Frame projects to support additional strength while maintaining athleticism. Right handed hitter with a spread, slightly open stance and high back elbow set at load. Lower half generated good hip torque to contact with rotational actions. Swung with intent on a compact, direct path to contact with a naturally leverage plane through extension. Showed present bat speed and strength at contact consistently working the ball to all fields on a line. Flashed the ability to turn the barrel to contact and work to pull side with authority as well. Named to the 2017 Sunshine West Showcase Top Prospect List. Very good student.
