Josh Lasser is a 2019 C/ with a 6-2 185 lb. frame from Washington, DC who attends Woodrow Wilson. Large frame with long limbs and a solid build. Frame projects to support additional strength. Primary catcher with a low, side set stance while receiving the baseball. Shifts weight forward while working out of crouch and gaining ground towards the bag. Showed soft hands while receiving the baseball with quick, compact exchanges across chest. Released from a compact three-quarters arm slot producing some carry to the bag at 72 miles per hour, best workout pop time of 2.00. Right handed hitter with an upright, even stance and simple front side trigger. Stays on back side throughout and works to contact with rotational lower half actions. Loose path to contact with a naturally leverage barrel plane through extension. Looked to connect with baseball out front and create lift to the gaps. Flashed good strength with present bat speed that generated good carry to the gaps when on time and squared. Excellent student as well.
