Jordan Laing is a 2021 RHP/OF with a 6-3 170 lb. frame from Brooksville, FL who attends Hernando. Tall and projectable athletic build, lots of room to get stronger. Loose and clean arm stroke on the mound, low effort release from a simple and repeatable delivery, high 3/4's arm slot. Fastball topped out at 85 mph, can ride his fastball up over barrels, gets to the glove side well with good direction in his delivery. Threw both a curveball and a slider, slider was a better and more promising pitch with a short and tight break, throws his slider with conviction, tends to let up and guide his curveball. Interesting young arm with lots of physical projection. Left handed hitter, hits from a tall and open stance with a late hand hitch load, middle of the field line drive approach. 7.40 runner. Excellent student. Named to the Sunshine East Top Prospect List.
