Blake Warren is a 2022 SS/2B/IF with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from Toms River, NJ who attends Manchester Twp. Recorded a 4.93 second forty-yard dash time. Compact, medium frame with square shoulders, a high waist and room to fill out. Primary middle-infielder with good first step quickness, smooth footwork throughout the fielding process and clean glove actions. Displayed ability to range well to either side, working downhill through the baseball into a clean funnel and quick release. Recorded arm strength up to 78 mph across the diamond from a slightly segmented arm action. Solid, fundamentally sound defensive skill set with some athleticism to his actions. Right-handed hitter that hits from an athletic, even stance with a high hand set, high back elbow and leg lift trigger. Fairly simple, repeatable swing with compact hand path, consistent bat-to-ball skills and line drive impact. Whole field approach with slightly lofted swing path, feel for the barrel and the propensity to find the barrel often. Displayed consistency throughout his batting practice, translating it well into game action and showcasing some emerging power to the gaps. Athletic prospect with sound defensive skill set and some upside at the plate. Excellent Student.
