Michael McGibney is a 2020 3B/1B/OF with a 6-3 187 lb. frame from San Diego, CA who attends Scripps Ranch HS. Large frame with long limbs and beginnings of strength. Primary third baseman with clean, smooth paced footwork while surrounding the baseball. Funnels from a deeper position and worked through exchange efficiently. Maintains momentum towards the bag while releasing from a three-quarters arm slot. Throws produced on line carry across the infield at 76 miles per hour. Right handed hitter a spread, even stance and sweeping leg lift trigger. Aggressively shifts into contact with linear lower half actions. Loose hand path to contact with a naturally leveraged barrel plane. Flashed some strength at contact with the ability to create lift to the gaps. Showed best contact when throwing barrel head out front to contact and working to the middle of the field between the gaps. Very good student as well.
