Edward Ortiz is a 2018 SS/2B with a 6-3 180 lb. frame from Bayamon, PR who attends American School. Tall and lanky athletic build, very projectable physically. 6.89 runner, solid infield actions with quick feet and good agility, plenty of raw arm strength and carry on his throws, looked very good at third base as well and showed he could make the athletic play off his feet. Right handed hitter with a spread straight leg stance, relaxed trigger and load, good hand position, swing gets arm heavy at times, best swings are when he drives his hands through the zone, line drive swing plane with a mid field approach. Good student.
