John Salvitti is a 2020 SS/2B, 3B with a 5-10 155 lb. frame from Venetia, PA who attends Shady Side Academy Senior. Recorded a 7.77 second 60-yard dash time. Medium, slender frame with good athleticism to the build. Primary shortstop with deliberate, fluid actions and good range. Solid glove actions with currently developing arm strength. Righthanded hitter with a high hand set and a high back elbow. Inward toe tap trigger into his stride to create separation. Slight hand hitch as a timing mechanism into the swing. Turns the barrel over well and can pull the ball effectively. Looseness to hands and has a sound approach at the plate. Looking to pull and lift the ball into the air and resulted in a lot of fly ball contact. Gap-to-gap approach and worked best when creating line drives to both sides. Flashes bat speed with a clean transfer of weight through contact. Good student.
