Angel Cruz is a 2021 RHP/3B with a 6-3 195 lb. frame from Wellington, FL who attends Suncoast Community. Ran a 7.30 second 60 yard dash. A primary righthanded pitcher with a large long projectable frame, he starts with a simple side step into a belt high leg lift with some coil at the top, does a nice job staying tall on the backside with some drop and drive actions coming down the mound, showed a full arm arm action with good arm speed working to a high three-quarters arm slot, the fastball sat 81-84 mph with short arm side run, mixed in a slider with late bite and sweeping action to it, showed the ability to manipulate the shape of the breaking ball at times and get more depth through the zone with it when needed. Secondary infielder, carries his momentum through the fielding process, showed a strong arm with carry throwing 86 mph across the diamond, foot work was smooth moving in all directions and allowed him to get in position to throw from multiple arm angles. At the plate, his righthanded swing starts with a wide base and high hands, showed strength at the point of contact with good extension out front and good bat speed. Good student.
