Judson "Jay" Clements is a 2023 RHP/1B, 3B with a 6-5 205 lb. frame from Newport News, VA who attends Menchville. Long, lean frame with long levers and some present strength throughout his frame with more room to grow. Primary right-handed pitcher, athletic operation with explosive action down the mound. High 3/4 arm slot, creating a lot of late life on his fastball. Commanded the zone well with a plus-potential two-pitch mix. Topped 86 mph as he cruised in the mid-80's during his outing. Whippy arm action, maintaining his arm speed on his 11-5 shaped curveball. Secondary corner infielder, deep fielding funnel as he moved around the bag well. Quick turns with present arm strength up to 84 mph on his throws. Projects on the mound. Right-handed hitter, narrow, slightly open stance with a low-hand set. Elevated swing plane, flashing some line-drive impact as he worked to the pull side during his round of BP. Developing feel for the barrel as his hands tend to get away from his body. Good student.
