Brett Nickerson is a 2022 3B/RHP/2B with a 6-5 165 lb. frame from Medfield, MA who attends Medfield. Recorded a 7.61 second sixty-yard dash time. Long, lanky frame with square shoulders and plenty of room to add strength. Primary third baseman with developing defensive skill set; incorporates length to range laterally fairly well to both sides, fielding deeper out in front with some adjustability with his glove. Displayed good body control and athleticism to consistently make plays during drills, while recording accurate throws up to 74 mph across the diamond. Secondary right-handed pitcher; full windup delivery with some deception to it, quick coiled leg lift into balance and long stride down the slope. Fastball worked in the upper-70s for the duration of his outing, topping out at 80 mph from a three-quarters arm slot. Proficient strike thrower with good extension out in front and command to both sides of the plate with his fastball. Mixed in developing breaking ball that varied in shape and had the tendency to stay up in the zone in this look. Does exhibit some velocity upside, as he continues to add strength and fill out. Right-handed hitter that hits from a slightly open stance with a high hand set, high back elbow and knee-knock trigger for timing. Incorporates tight, inside hand path that restricts his ability to get extension and the barrel out in front. Showed developing bat-to-ball skills with slightly downward swing path and occasional line drive contact to the middle and pull-side. Will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments. Interesting upside on the mound with projectable frame that could add loads of strength in the future. Good Student.
