Teddy Olander is a 2020 LHP/OF with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Elmhurst, IL who attends Nazareth Academy. Medium frame with a lean build. Projects for additional strength. Primary left handed pitcher who worked exclusively from the stretch. Medium leg lift and worked to the plate with drop and drive actions. Full arm action and released from an extended three-quarters arm slot. Works over front side well at release. Fastball came out of hand cleanly with occasional life through the zone in the mid to upper 70's, topper a 77 miles per hour. Curveball had 1/7 shape with solid spin and good depth in the mid 60's. Flashed good feel for a changeup offering that created some sink to the bottom of the zone in the low 70's. Displayed good feel for all three pitches with the ability to keep hitters off balance. Also worked out defensively from the outfield showing quick, athletic footwork while closing to the baseball. Clean glove actions at pick up and worked through exchange well. Throws created accurate carry to the bag topping at 79 miles per hour. Left handed hitter with an upright, slightly open stance and simple front side trigger. Stays balanced and works to contact with rotational lower half actions. Stays behind contact well and employed a line drive barrel plane. Displayed solid feel for the barrel while consistently working to the middle of the field between the gaps. Excellent student as well.
