Jacob Luevano is a 2017 3B/RHP with a 5-9 155 lb. frame from South Pasadena, CA who attends South Pasadena. Medium frame with slender; athletic present build. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.74 seconds. Sets up to hit with high back elbow, linear swing plane, torques hips well into swing. Coils hips, does a good job getting into hips at contact, shows approach to middle of the field with developing contact skills and strength. Worked out defensively in the infield. Shows good range to both sides, hand actions are fine, throws from high three quarters slot across the diamond with solid arm strength up to 73 mph. Pitched as well, compact arm circle through the back up to high three quarters slot, fastball worked 75-78 mph with good arm side run as well as cut to glove side. Does a good job getting in on the hands of hitters. Showed curveball with 11/5 shape and quality depth; landed it for strikes to both sides of the plate. Good student.
