Noah Young is a 2021 RHP/IF with a 6-2 155 lb. frame from Overland Park, KS who attends Blue Valley North. Long, lanky build with room to fill out. Ran a 7.30 second sixty-yard dash. Primary right handed pitcher. Employs a small side step to belt high leg lift staying slightly flexed at gather going to drop and drive actions down the mound. Lands online with the plate and stays online with the plate through finish while getting extended out front well. Flashed a long, loose arm action in the back going to a mid three-quarter arm slot at release with good arm speed. Features a two pitch mix including a fastball with some feel for the zone complemented by an 11/5 breaking ball with big depth and looser break, thrown for consistent strikes in any count. Also worked out defensively in the infield. Displayed deeper funnels out front with confident glove actions. Showed the ability to work to and through the ball with athletic actions and clean footwork. Flashed good range to both sides to go along with good arm strength and accurate carry across the field topping out at 77 mph to first base. Right handed hitter. Employs a even stance with a leg lift trigger and high hand set up. Uses a line drive barrel plane through the zone with good bat speed and the ability to create jump to and through the gaps in the outfield when on time and squared. Displayed the ability to drive the ball to the pull side with good barrel control and bat speed working out front to create loud contact to the pull side. Good student. Named to the 2019 Central Prospect, Top Prospect List.
