Jake Shaffer is a 2020 3B/RHP/MIF with a 6-1 176 lb. frame from Tyler, TX who attends The Brook Hill. Long and projectable athletic build, lots of room to fill out and get stronger. Right handed hitter, low hand start, foot tends to get down late off a late leg lift trigger, showed good bat speed and ability to drive and lift the ball when he got his foot down, has strength in his hands and can make loud contact when on time, projects as a hitter with adjustments. 7.76 runner, arm strength is his best tool on defense, reads hops well and has soft hands, can continue to work on improving his foot and lower half quickness. Also pitched, hunched over delivery, high 3/4's arm slot with some lower half turn, tends to fall off to the first base side and run away from his arm and will miss arm side. Fastball topped out at 77 mph with some running action, short slurve type breaking ball. Good student.
