Luke Short is a 2021 SS/RHP/2B with a 5-9 160 lb. frame from Virginia Beach, VA who attends Norfolk Christian Schools. Medium frame with a lean build and plenty of room to fill out. Ran a 7.54 second 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, shows good twitch and athleticism to actions, moves around the dirt well with softness to hands and a quick transfer that plays well from the shortstop position and arm strength that creates some carry across. Actions, hands lateral range plays well up the middle. Also pitches, shows looseness and athleticism in the delivery with a loose and whippy arm stroke that creates some sinking life to the fastball as it gets on the hands of right-handed hitters while showing feel for a breaking ball with good shape and sharpness that plays as an out pitch. Right-handed hitter, sets up balanced and uses a contact-oriented approach to find the barrel at a consistent rate; has some length to contact but shifts weight well and generates good line drive contact to the middle of the field that projects well with added strength.
