Kobe Butts is a 2020 C/RHP, IF with a 6-0 190 lb. frame from Macon, GA who attends Mt De Sales Academy. Large and sturdy frame with present strength to his lower half. Ran a 7.50 second 60 yard dash. Primary catcher, sets up in a parallel squat from a side saddle starting position, comes out of his crouch well and gains good ground to the target, receives the baseball out in front transferring the ball to his hand in a lower position, follows through out over his front side well, average arm strength with mostly accurate throws to second base during drills, 2.20 second best pop time. Secondary righthanded pitcher, starts windup with a side step up to a belt high leg lift, takes the baseball straight back to a long arm action up to a high ¾ arm slot, good tempo to delivery using his front side well as a lever for the throwing arm to come through, fastball is straight and topped out at 76 mph, plenty of depth to his 12-to-6 curveball. Also took reps in the infield, fields the baseball out in front with effort to his actions, developing footwork taking long strides to his glove side, could work more on funneling from the ground up to his body for added effectiveness, topped out at 78 mph across the diamond. Righthanded hitter, slightly open stance to start, hand hitch at load leading to a long swing path, flashes the ability to get extended at times, present juice off of the barrel when squared.
