Cus Wood is a 2023 LHP/1B with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Cincinnati, OH who attends St Xavier. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and some present strength to frame, additional room to grow moving forward. Ran a 7.71 60-yard dash. Primary lefthanded pitcher, works out of the stretch, stays compact with arm action through the back and at release while working to a high three-quarters release point. Fastball topped out at 70 mph, moves the ball around well within the strike zone, mostly true in life and pitched to contact. Nice feel for landing curveball for strikes, 1-7 shape and shows confidence in the pitch with shape. Lefthanded hitter, begins with an even stance and lower hands in swing, strides slightly open moving into contact. Smooth path through the zone and works with a linear plane through the zone. Generates back spin when squared and shows some quickness to hands, comfort working the middle and pull side parts of the field. Excellent student.
