Colby Cooke is a 2020 LHP/1B with a 5-10 175 lb. frame from Spring, TX who attends Oak Ridge. Medium athletic build with good present strength especially in his lower half. Low effort delivery on the mound with a loose arm to a high 3/4's arm slot, has good direction to the plate and uses his lower half well to generate power. Fastball topped out at 84 mph, mostly straight with occasional flat arm side running action. Shows good feel for his curveball and change up, maintains arm speed on both pitches and throws them for strikes, solid three-pitch mix. Two-way prospect, has a simple left handed swing with good strength behind it, stays timed up well, can drive the ball to the gaps and makes consistent hard contact. 7.66 runner, has good arm strength from the outfield. Good student. Named to the 2018 National Underclass South Showcase Top Prospect List.
