Matt Barragy is a 2019 1B/3B with a 6-5 175 lb. frame from Ames, IA who attends Gilbert. Extra large frame with a wiry frame and room to fill out. Ran a 7.47 second 60-yard dash. Worked out defensively as a primary first baseman. Fields out front with a funnel to the body. Clean transfers with solid footwork through turn into a long and loose arm action. Throws from a side arm slot on throws topping out at 80 miles per hour. Lefthanded hitter with an upright stance. Utilizes a toe tap trigger for timing. Rotational actions to contact with a line drive path. Makes solid contact when working to the middle of the field but has the ability to hit to the gaps. Good student as well.
