Andrew Hanaway is a 2018 LHP/ with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from Birmingham, AL who attends Mountain Brook. Medium frame with a lean build and wiry strength. Frame projects to support additional strength. Primary left handed pitcher who worked exclusively from the stretch. Medium leg lift to gather and works to the plate with drop and drive actions. Created some front side swing while working to the plate but lands in line and carries momentum through finish. Medium arm circle at separation and released from a compact three-quarters arm slot. Flashed some arm speed through extension and generated sinking run to arm side with a fastball that topped at 78 miles per hour. Curveball had 1/7 shape with loose spin and solid depth in the mid 60's. Also flashed a changeup offering that had occasional fading action to arm side. Looked to fill the zone and showed developing feel for each edge of the plate. Showed best command and movement when staying in tempo and repeating arm action. Very good student.
