Evan Smith is a 2018 3B/ with a 6-1 200 lb. frame from Annville, KY who attends Jackson County HS. Recorded a 7.22 second 60-yard dash time. Medium frame with well-proportioned strength and physicality throughout. Primary third baseman with a lower three-quarters arm angle and deliberate actions. Balanced defender with some lateral agility and a short release on the ball. Righthanded hitter with a high hand set and high back elbow. Line drive swing plane and keeps the barrel in the hitting zone a long time. Slightly open stance with a wide base and a toe tap trigger into contact. Direct path to contact with a gap-to-gap approach. Quiet hand load and is looking to lift the ball. Can impact the ball with a lot of strength; 91 mph exit velocity. Great student.
