Kaden Stegent is a 2023 SS/RHP, C, 2B, 3B, OF with a 5-6 125 lb. frame from Cypress, TX who attends Cypress Woods. Young, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout. Ran a 7.01 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, fields the ball out front with a wide base, deliberate tempo and maintained balance, can refine footwork in actions, shows accuracy on throws with carry across and comfort dropping slot on throws across. Receives the ball out front with two hands behind the plate, stands tall out of crouch, young actions with upper body dominant release, short arm action and shows accuracy down to second base. Also pitched, simple side step into a leg lift up to belt with a hip turn at top, works to a three-quarters release point. Upright release, fastball topped out at 74 mph, mostly true in life and worked in the zone, flashed a 12-6 shaped curveball up to 64 mph, can maintain arm speed better at release. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide base and a high hand set and back elbow in the box; weight starts on backside and utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing. Long swing path through the zone and keeps hands inside the ball, looks to lift at point of contact. Shows comfort turning on the ball, upper body dominant swing and occasionally mistimed with leg lift, projects with added strength.
