Matthew Ma is a 2022 3B/RHP/2B with a 5-11 195 lb. frame from Denham Springs, LA who attends Live Oak. Medium frame with a strong and stocky build. Recorded a 7.11 second 60 yard dash time. Primary third baseman with a short arm action and low slot. Solid footwork, fields it in the center of the body. Strong arm, will see more carry on the throws as he carries his momentum towards the target. Right-handed hitter with an open stance and hanging leg lift trigger. High intent swing with a line drive path. Pull side approach with good jump and carry. Secondary right-handed pitcher with drop and drive mechanics and a high leg lift. Shows some athleticism in the delivery. Quick and compact arm action, shows occasional cut on the fastball. Works low in the zone and attacks hitters. Flashed a sweeping slider and a changeup. Good skills and obvious strength. Excellent student. Named to the 2020 Fall Academic Showcase Top Prospect List.
