Gage Wakefield is a 2021 OF/1B, 3B, SS with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from Bullard, TX who attends Bullard High School. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and present strength to frame, additional room to fill moving forward. Has quick-twitch, posted a 6.69 earlier this summer in the 60-yard. Primary outfielder, take short and quick steps moving towards the ball, fields out front and works into a full arm action through the back, loads prior to release, gets to a tight slot on throws and shows accuracy to the plate. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide base and a high hand set and back elbow in the box. Upper body dominant swing with limited shift through lower half but shows present contact skills. Short and direct to the ball with a linear path, keeps hands inside the ball well and looks to pull it with contact oriented approach, projects with strength. Good student.
