Colby Marini is a 2023 SS/RHP, 2B with a 5-11 155 lb. frame from Tallahassee, FL who attends Florida State University School. Medium frame with a thin build showing plenty of room to fill out down the road. Ran a 7.66 second sixty yard dash. Primary Shortstop, bend at the waist type gather as he takes short, choppy steps to the baseball. Sidearm release on throws as he threw it 69 mph across the diamond. Secondary Right-Handed Pitcher, working from a side step and lift with a shoulder turn from the windup. Sits in back leg well as he drives with the lower half. Three-quarter arm slot as he was direct to the plate and filled up the strikezone. Fastball was up to 79 mph showing some arm side run. Curveball showing as slurvy in the low mid 60's that got some swings and misses. Also mixed in a changeup that he kept down. Right-Handed Hitter, starting from a spread out, open front side stance. Medium leg lift and stride as hands sink a bit. Longer swing path with a linear plane as he looks to drive the baseball middle away. Found barrels with consistency and will make a jump in the future as he gets stronger. Outstanding Student.
