Luke Davenport is a 2020 RHP/3B/OF with a 5-11 205 lb. frame from Fayetteville, AR who attends Fayetteville East HS. Big and thick barrel chested build, looks bigger than listed, very strong. Slow paced delivery with some late acceleration to the plate, high 3/4's arm slot with good angle to the plate, compact arm that hides the ball effectively. Fastball topped out at 88 mph, hitters don't see the fastball well, works high in the strike zone frequently and gets over hitters barrels, maintained velocity well. Short cutter-like slider gets off barrels well and gives hitters another look. Developing change up. Right handed hitter, keeps hands tight and short to the ball, lifted swing plane with a lift and pull approach at the plate, physical hitter who can drive a mistake. 7.46 runner, showed his arm strength well in the outfield with nice on line carry. Good student.
