Shane Thorson is a 2022 OF/LHP with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Zebulon, NC who attends Cary HS. Medium frame with an athletic build and room to add. Ran a 7.45 second 60-yard dash. Primary lefthanded pitcher with a short side step delivery into medium leg lift. Short takeaway into an extended high three-quarters slot with arm speed. Able to work both halves of the plate effectively with the fastball flashing some late run through the zone and topping out at 82 miles per hour. Confident feel for the breaking ball with a tight 12-to-6 spin and short and quick break. Mixes in a changeup against lefthanded hitters with fade away from the barrels. Worked out as a secondary outfielder Attacks the ball well with fluid exchanges. Short actions in the back and getting on top of throws. Creates some carry out of the hand topping out at 84 miles per hour. Switch hitter at the plate with a wide spread stance to start. Works through a slightly downhill plane creating line drive contact. Works mostly to the middle of the field. Has better barrel quickness when swinging from the right side. Good student as well.
