Jace Thomas is a 2021 LHP/OF with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from Orange Park, FL who attends St. John's Country Day. Large frame with an athletic and slender build. Ran a 7.19 second 60-yard dash. Primary lefthanded pitcher with a simple and athletic delivery. Very high paced delivery with a clean release from a short take away. Works to extension well from a high three-quarter slot. Creates some cutting action on the fastball topping out at 77 MPH. Looser spin to the curveball rolling through the zone with the chance to be a solid pitch with a tightened spin. Worked out defensively as a primary outfielder. Clean actions around the baseball and into transfers. Aggressive close with quicker strides in. Quick and concise transfers. Accurate to the bag with some developing arm strength producing occasional carry at 79 MPH. Lefthanded hitter with a wide stance and high hand set. Utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing. Repeats mechanics well showing feel for the barrel. Works contact to the middle of field and pull side. Gets the barrel out in front. Very good student as well. Named to the 2019 National Academic Top Prospect List.
