Eli Paton is a 2020 1B/3B with a 6-3 205 lb. frame from La Canada, CA who attends Maranatha. Large frame with strong, physical build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.13 seconds. Hits from wide-based, spread stance with high hands and back elbow, quick hips and hands through swing, creates torque in hips, hand speed stands out, flatter path, will have substantial raw power as he generates more lift to swing, hands work well through stroke, quality offensive impact. Primary first baseman, athletic actions with clean funnel, hands work well out front, excellent footwork both around and off of the bag, makes good throws with zip and accuracy, clocked up to 86 mph on throws. Also took infield reps, third base profile, hands work well, good accuracy on throws across, clocked up to 87 mph.
